Versificator Regis #15 - Ink’s Weight

from Voices In My Head - Disc 1 by Steve Smart Poetry & Music

/

about

Is this the one with the whole 'Hark!' thing in the poem? It is too.

Hark! the angels sing
in voices strained
to no god I can see

That was Anthony O'Sullivan's fault. We were at a poetry reading in Prahran, the old Spinning Room gig, and he made the observation that the word 'hark' wasn't used enough in poetry. Now this being the exact same time I was working on Versificator Regis with Nick, well I thought, how perfect is that! The only time I've ever used the word in my life, and now I'm stuck with it. Could be worse.

Steve Smart is practically indestructible. Hard headed and stubborn, he may not be the most famous poet in the world but no one can say it's from lack of trying. All of his poetry and music albums are right here at Bandcamp.
