about

Nice jazzy kind of vibe on this one. That was all Matt, me I wasn't jazzy at all but he's great at finding audio juxtapositions. And then of course there's the shift. I did love a shift. And a whine. God I was a whiny fucker. This one was a bit of a hit around the place as I recall, Melbourne being full of whiny fuckers ; )

There was a whole series of these poems, the oh poor me why don't girls like me poems. There's another one on the 'You Talking To Me?' compilation that came out around the same time. Then I started having lots of sex and decided they were a bit disengenuous, although I was assured that it's ok to perform poems that you don't directly relate to anymore, as long as they were honest when you wrote them.

And it was. Was it fuck!

about

Steve Smart Poetry & Music Melbourne, Australia

Steve Smart is practically indestructible. Hard headed and stubborn, he may not be the most famous poet in the world but no one can say it's from lack of trying. All of his poetry and music albums are right here at Bandcamp.
