about

This is one of the few tracks that still contains one of mine and Leigh's hilarious intros from that session. We had some funny stuff, just mucking around there in his studio in Collingwood. Somehow most of those takes disappeared. The intro to 'Blind and I' was certainly inspired by Leigh's blues riff on this track - 'This is a song about cocaine and hookers...'

Also the third and final poem (on this album) inspired by the songs of Emily Ulman. My thanks to Emily for many years of inspiration.

I know there's more I want to say about this. It was certainly written during a period of introspection and a moving away (for a while) from the kind of ranting I'd been doing up to that point. I'd been moving in that direction, tentatively, for a while. There was a lot of death around our community at that time. I feel like this was around the point where my poems actually started to become poems.

Steve Smart Poetry & Music Melbourne, Australia

Steve Smart is practically indestructible. Hard headed and stubborn, he may not be the most famous poet in the world but no one can say it's from lack of trying. All of his poetry and music albums are right here at Bandcamp.
